Forerunner 55 - HRM 4 Compatibility

I already bought a Forerunner 55 as christmas present. Does it work with HRM Run 4 belt? I did not find anything on the site...

The HRM run has been discontinued.

The HRM Dual and HRM Pro/Pro plus appear to be compatible. The HRM Pro is basically the replacement for the HRM Run.

I know it is discontinued, but I have one and I would like to know if it works or not before I give the present. This is the reason for my question

i have first garmin hrm belt.. and its work with my forerunner 55 without a single problem.. but all users who tested forerunner 55 wrist hrm are saying that wrist hrm is very accurate

It will work, but just as a basic HR strap. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the forerunner 55 does not support running dynamics provided by the HRM-Run.

This means it's better to buy a standard belt. But if this is true, why does Garmin associate the forerunner 55 to the HRM Pro belt?
