Battery drain (50% in 1 night)

My girlfried has a Forerunner 55. Mostly happy with it and worked fine. However since 1 or 2 weeks it's draining battery like crazy. Battery life would be easily 5-7 days with some activities, but now it drains 50% every night.

We already did a restart and a factory reset, but this didn't help.

Is there anyone else who has this issue?

Thinking of going back to 4.11 or something else.

Sorry to hear that. That type of thing was commonplace with the 45, but I’ve been doing 30 miles per week on the 55 and charging only every 10 days.

I’m sorry to hear of the battery drain issues that you’re experiencing. Let’s start by power cycling (turning off and then back on) your watch. If the battery drain persists and if you have any Connect IQ (CIQ) Content, especially watch faces, you may need to delete that content as we have found that removing this content can resolve this issue. You can use any of the 3 FAQs below to uninstall the CIQ content.

I am also having same issue, at night 11:30pm it was 45%, woke up at 6am watch dead.
Earlier multiple times, started cycling activity at 100% charge, then after an hour watch is dead.
Updated the watch to latest software and also reset it multiple times.

Still battery is unreliable...

I used to have these sudden situations where battery got drained very quickly.

I then read in some other post that a user had success with just after charging he started a running activity to start the GPS and then he shut the activity down again.

His theory was that the watch sometimes has the GPS on after being charged even though it is not showing or is suppose to being on.

I have been using this hack since then approx 1 years time now and have not seen the problem since.

it does make sense, because the drain is the same with gps on or off.

I also downgraded the firmware, but this didn't solve anything.

Not able to test it anymore as it wasn't my device.
