FR 55 wrist gesture?

I've downloaded a watch face that only show certain information when wrist gesture is on.

However it doesn't work on FR 55, I turned my wrist the information that supposed to show doesn't appear at all, unless I switch on Backlight > Gesture.

But I don't want the backlight to switch on during day time. Is it the only way to make it work?

in settings for backlight on the watch, under Gestures, as well as On and Off, there is also After Sunset, which you need to set for both During Activity and Not During Activity. That should do what you want, providing your time setting is correct.
