Hi, I'd like to clarify if it is possible to assign a pre-specified distance to each manually timed lap, instead of the GPS-measured distance.
The reason is that I run in a park near my home whose circumference I know quite reliably. I realize that I can just use a stopwatch, but I'm considering buying a Garmin watch for other things like heart rate tracking, stride length/rate, etc. Plus all sorts of suggested training programs.
My concern is that if I use the watch to manually time laps in each run. Then the run data across several runs will assign slightly inaccurate GPS distances to the laps, and I'd like my running data to be as accurate as possible. Is it possible to:
1. get the watch to assign a custom, pre-specified distance to each manually timed lap and record that into its data, OR
2. manually change the distances in the aggregate data after the fact. i.e. the watch recorded the GPS distances into the data to start with, but I can go to the app/software later on and edit the distances?
