Forerunner 35 - can't upload activity or sync watch any more

Had watch for 3 months and it's synced with Garmin Connect fine, until now. Watch won't sync (it says "No App Connection Available"), even after switching off and on and changing countless settings to try to force it to do what it did fine earlier in the week. As a result, I can't upload activities unless I connect my watch to my PC and drag and drop the .fit file into Connect. No-one has an answer to this question before that I can find, so I don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon Any chance someone could refute my pessimism and find a solution?

Have you tried a factory reset of the watch? Synced using Garmin Express? Are you using android or iPhone?

Synced through Garmin Connect using Android phone. I cannot use Garmin Express due to problems with my PC.

The factory reset you've linked to appears to be for a different device. I really don't want to delete all activities from my watch (which the correct factory reset process does) unless it's the only possible solution.

Factory reset might not be the only solution. Just asking if you tired it yet. If you call Garmin, likely they would have you do that. Garmin Express can fix some of these issues, so if you can somehow locate a computer that works. Since it's android, there is an exhaustive list of things to try here: Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

Good news is you've only had it for 3 months, so ultimately Garmin's warranty would apply

Have you tried to delete the App from the Phone and Start Again by Reloading the App from the Store.

If you have another phone you could also try on another phone first.

Maybe the problem is on the phone and not on the Watch.

There Seems to be problems with the latest versions of Garmin Connect.

Looks like the update is the problem, as it still won't pair after the factory reset (sorry I've realised my error). No steps or HR data for a couple of days now. Garmin Connect is currently totally pointless - it adds nothing that Strava doesn't do. Bit of a joke really.

If you have tried everything on the Sync / Connection troubleshooting Guide, without skipping anything, then definitely time to contact Garmin Support.

If you think the update is the culrprit, use the last tip from the Sync / Connection troubleshooting Guide and install an older version of the GC Mobile app.

Do you know of any sites with versions of Garmin Connect that are more recent than June 2019?
