Almost completed my third coaching plan with Garmin, this time for a full marathon.
First “Garmin Run Coach” plan after doing two plans with coach Jeff and coach Greg.
I was very satisfied with the first two plans and managed to achieve a 1:25 half marathon using it, so I had high hopes for the “Garmin Run Coach” plan for the full marathon, but it’s been extremely disappointing and I’m wondering if my plan is “broken” or something, this is its suggestion for this week:
Mar 9 – 40 min @ 140 bpm
Mar 10 – 51 min sprint workout (9 × 0:10 all-out)
Mar 11 – Rest
Mar 12 – 48 min threshold (3 × 8:00 @ 166 bpm)
Mar 13 – 39 min @ 140 bpm
Mar 14 – 1h16 @ 140 bpm
Mar 15 – Marathon day
I’m confused, where is the taper?️ ️
I'm in week 20 of 21, so date is correct...
Also, my workouts in the weeks leading up to the half marathon in the previous plans were WAY harder and really pushed me, the ones in this plan have been far too easy and far too short for my taste.
Anyone have similar experiences or know what’s up with this?
