I've had the watch since Oct 2023. I emailed support, but since it's no longer in warranty, I don't know if they will help.
Yesterday, around 8:30am, my watch seems to have developed a bug or broken. My stress levels and steps stopped being tracked (I'm pregnant and getting up a lot in the night to pee, so I could see when steps stopped going up).
I didn't notice this until yesterday evening, but my sleep tracking was also super weird. When I looked at my phone in the evening, it said my sleep was between 8:48am to 6:13pm. In reality, I slept from 1am to around 8:30. This weirdness might be a clue of something around what went wrong?
My watch was somewhat low on batteries (about 10%) when I looked at noon yesterday, so I plugged it in to charge. When I first noticed the issue, I thought it might have been related to the battery getting low, but it's gotten lower before without issues.
Things I have done so far:
- Looked for "activity tracking," as some articles suggest. But I can't find a way to toggle this on and off on the current interface for Garmin/Forerunner 265, so my only guess is this guidance is outdated? Does anyone know where in the menus I can find this, if it exists?
- Checked battery saver status. It is not on battery saver.
- Restarted the watch several times. Plugged the watch back in.
- Factory reset and re-paired with my phone.
- Started an activity (walk) on my watch, in case active logging of an activity might kickstart some of the other tracking again.
None of these have helped. I'm starting to think the watch is just broken? But no idea how it broke while I was in bed.
FWIW, the watch is still tracking my heart rate fine.
Does anyone have any more ideas on what I can try?
