I put my phone on the indoor bike I use so I can see my HR on the circular meter in Connect. I use a chest strap. I could just glance at my watch but got into the habit while doing lots of elliptical.
I like to see the dot move through the different colored zones.
On my old Venu, the dot and colors matched my HR and the zones I set for myself.
On my new FR 265, I have three zones settings in place (run, bike, default). Although I’m not sure if my thinking is right about default. I’m guessing it’s used for any activity not specifically run/bike.
Anyways, on my last indoor bike activity, I it appeared that the zones on my watch matched my HR exactly. The line that moves through the zones was as expected.
However, when I looked at Connect’s display, I noticed the dot was about 6 beats lower in the color zones which is about the difference between my default HR zones settings.
So I could be in the low end of zone 2 for bike settings ~110bpm but be in zone 1 on the Connect display. Connect accurately displays the same HR as watch and counts intensity minutes correctly (z2 = 1min, z4= 2min).
I could just ignore the Connect display as it might be locked into the default settings in terms of how it shows the dot moving through the zones or I could change the default to match my bike zones.
I would prefer to see Connect show the dot move exactly as the line moves in my watch. Is there anything I can do?
