Forerunner 265 instant heartrate possible?

Hey there.

I am looking for a runners watch that shows very quick the actual heart rate.

Sine a long time I have a simple Apple Watch Sports but it takes like 5-10 Seconds when lifting the watch Arm until the Heart Rate is shown.

I don‘t like to run 10 Seconds watching my watch while processing.

So the Question is, is it possible to have the Heart Rate always onscreen? Or how long does the measuring takes until it is shown?

I had a look at the Forerunners 265 and 165 but I would also buy a more expensive one if its nessecarry to have Heart Rate always on or at least very quick. I also have a Belt for measurement if this makes it faster.

Thanks in Advance.

Simon

  • Yes, on Garmin's you can have heart rate always on the watch face, and it's updated constantly.

  • But since you mentioned a HR strap, I thought to add that Garmin's don't use the strap for HR except when you are doing an activity or enter the HR widget to see your heart rate graph. But the optical wrist HR is measured all the time, regardless of whether you have just lifted your arm or not.

  • You can see the strap's measurement if it's paired and connected and you're in the HR glance or pairing screen, I think.
