Is there a way to hit "Start", select "Run" and actually start an activity without a warmup? I can create a custom workout to remove the warm up but that seems like a lot of unnecessary steps to simply go run.

Is there a way to hit "Start", select "Run" and actually start an activity without a warmup?  I can create a custom workout to remove the warm up but that seems like a lot of unnecessary steps to simply go run.  I don't want to track a warmup.  I want to track my activity.  Just completed a 5K but my data is screwed up because of over a mile counted as a warm up.

  • I assume you mean with a Daily Suggested Workout? Just press lap to move straight to the next step after you press start. Thats's a workaround one could use I guess.

  • As S.M.R. said, it looks like you're actually doing a daily suggested workout.

This may be happening because the watch is prompting you to do a suggested workout by default, when you open the Run activity. This suggestion would look something like this:

    TODAY'S SUGGESTION
    Recovery
    [some pace]
    [some time]

You can dismiss the workout either by pressing Back or by pressing Start (which opens the workout menu) and selecting Dismiss.

Personally I find these suggestions to be a pain, and I turned off the prompts a long time ago:

    - Press START.
    - Select Run or Bike.
    - Hold UP.
    - Select Training > Workouts > Daily Suggestions > Settings > Workout Prompt.‍
    - Press START to disable or enable prompts.

You can always manually open the suggested workout for today (or future days) by opening Training > Workouts > Daily Suggestions, so I think turning off the prompts is no big loss
