Wrong exercise benefit load

Recently the exercise load benefit on my Garmin Forerunner 265s has been wrong. I had workouts where both my average heart rate and the average time in heart rate zone were clearly in my orange zone (threshold), yet the benefit is set as "base". Which is annoying, because my watch keeps telling me to have more high aerobic workouts and intense days.

In the screenshots, you can see the zones of today's workout, and the exercise load of today, which is "base" instead of threshold. Same thing happened yesterday.

  • Sadly, you should get used to it. It will come and go once every few software updates. It was broken like that for some time last year (I have FR965), then fixed and now it's been broken again roughly since mid December. I get my base/easy runs labelled as threshold or VO2Max, my 800m intervals (at 5k race pace) as Tempo, etc.

  • Thank you for the reply. Wow, that's annoying! May also explain why so many of my intensity minutes don't seem to be tracked? Unless I get quite a few minutes in a row, I don't get any.
