Shouldn’t there be a Confirm screen before a Discard ?

I finished a good 5k this morning in bright sumshine and without my reading glasses so reading the screen was difficult, but I stopped my FR 265 at the finish and attempted to save my data. I must have hit discard by mistake but surely there should be a ‘confirm you wish to discard’ screen to mitigate against accidents like this occurring? Is there any way the data will still be in the watch? It has totally messed up my run history.

  • Well that was weird! After several attempts to update my activities to Garmin Connect and also looking at the watch itself  to manually search for the run and its showing zero activity the ffollowing happened just as I was going to bed. I looked at it expecting just to see the regular time display and it said ‘Do you wish to resume the paused activity’ or words to that effect. I checked the activity and it was the missing 5k which I was then able to save. Either I must have been mistaken in thinking I’d accidentally discarded it, and/or some strange bug had somehow prevented it from showing up anywhere or something even more inexplicable had occurred. I’m perfectly happy to accept that I accidentally did something idiotic while my eyesight was compromised by bright sunlight and an absence of reading glasses but that doesn’t explain why I couldn’t find the activity when I got back indoors with my specs. A mystery?

  • I think you may have pressed the resume later feature.

  • Ah! Quite possibly - I’m not too familiar with this new 265 which I bought recently to replace my old 245. Thanks for the feedback
