Low HRV and body battery

I'm experiencing very low HRV and poor body battery for more than a week now... Running firmware 20.29.

I noticed quite some posts with similar issues. Any of you experience the same or similar?

Just started installing version 20.31, see if this affects anything...

  • Yes, my HRV has been extremely low for a week or so too, and my body battery recharge rate is also a lot lower than usual. Hard to say exactly when they plummeted because I did some hard training a couple of weeks ago that would be expected to make it drop anyway but I would guess the "inexplicably low" values started around 29th or 30th September.

Not sure what software version I was running when I first noticed this but I've been running 20.31 since Friday and am still getting very low values.

  • i have the same issue since 10 September when we had the last software update. i have just moved to 20.31 and I am hoping it will be fine again. its rubbish that the rage adjusts itself to the lower HRV after 3 weeks I have had low numbers for 5 weeks now and nothing has changed. before the software update I hardly had unbalanced and never low. now I am constantly low

  • I've had the same issue for several weeks and seems even worse after 20.31. Body Battery recovers only 30 when it used to be 50 to 60+.  HRV is very poor and I went into Strained, which I never see.  I went for a run yesterday and all of a sudden it's back to Productive because chest HRM was used.  This is beyond pathetic that this is happening at rest and not during an activity.

  • as i mentioned many times, if youre experiencing rare issues with the watch, reset to defaults, if it persists, reset to default and delete all data, normally it fixes all, if not, try another reset to default, sometimes de firmwares data messed the file structure and until some reset its doesnt goes right, its like a computer with windows, thats needs a format c: you can reinstall all the windows versions over the OS, but until you format c: and reinstall in a clean installation its not fixed. its how it works

  • thanks Lewis but wont a hard reset, or reset to defaults result in all my training history being deleted. my training programs that I have programmed. everything will be gone? is that correct?

  • if you sync before the reset only will be deleted the data on the watch, garmin connect and your data profile will remains in the garmin servers on internet

  • then after the reset, you sync again and start the last backup and the watch will look the same, first try reset to default, 2 times if needed, then if you see its not better reset and delete all

  • Lewis I will give this a try this weekend.  The last time I did something like this I lost some performance settings and also VO2 Max. It took 3 months to build it back to where I was before - seems to take forever to increment after reset.  Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I've had Forerunners for 4 years now.

  • I did, like proposed by Lewis, backup, factory reset my 265 and restored the backup.

Overnight HRV is still low, but body battery, stress and sleep score are now way better. HRV is an actual measurement, so that should not be affected by a reset, but the others, could it be that the calculations were off for some reason...?
