Forerunner 265 Software Version 20.29 - Spotify conflicts

Hello,

since the new software update 20.29 the 265M device cannot manage at the same time audio from Spotify in the movile and Garmin trainings alerts.

For example in a running series, when the vocal message from Garmin starts it goes in conflict with Spotify and goes in loop without completing its alerts. I have tried to investigate and I have seen that the botton stop-plays on Spotify (on the movile) at the same time is flashing.

The consequence is that neither the Garmin alert, neither the Spotify audio can go on, they enter in conflict, until I do not close Spotify on the movile.

This does not happen for example using Netflix, or Amazon Music, where the audio is made lower, giving 'space' to the Garmin alert, and then, when the alert is ended, the audio on the App is made at the initial level again.

With the previous software version of Garmin it was managed in the same way on Spotify.

Could you see if any solution can be implemented in coming updates?

Thanks

Edoardo

  • I have the same problem, but only with the second audio cue after a turn when using navigation (i.e. the initial "turn right" works fine but then the "in 500m turn left" will cause the issue). Other audio cues are fine. Only way out is restarting Spotify.

  • I have the same issue with auto laps.

And its actually the second sentence in the auto lap notification that gets stuck. The spotify podcast i am listening to pauses and starts every half second and the Garmin auto lap notification never finishes. So i get something like "Auto, Auto, Auto lap, Auto lap, Auto, Auto, Auto, which goes on forever". I once ran for over a km like this.

If you manage to pause the spotify podcast (its tricky as it doesnt play for long enough for you to tap pause), then the Garmin auto lap message will complete no problem. but then it will happen in the next auto lap.

So far I have only had it with a podcast and one that i had saved on my mobile. Not sure if this makes any difference.
