265 v. 965 Screen

I currently have a Forerunner 245 (love it), but have trouble seeing heart rate and other smaller data fields on watch face (tried different faces) and have trouble seeing it in the pool, so I'm looking to upgrade. How much of a difference is the screen on the 265 from my 245? I see it is only slightly bigger, 32.5 mm v. 30.4 mm. Wondering if the brightness and different type of screen helps a lot. I'm trying to decide between the 265 and 965 which is slightly bigger. Not concerned about other features, just need to be able to see what I need.

Thanks!

  • Take the 965 if you can the screen is much better . It is slightly larger and does not have such bevelled edges. Also the size of the 965 is not really much bigger "feel" as the "arms" holding the strap at a slightly different angle. Its quite thin also which helps.

I did a comparison , I shall try find it and link here

    Here you go:

I've got used to gesture etc , and would not go back to an MIP for my use case (running , swimming , walking , hiking etc)

  • S.M.R.,  great info, thank you very much.    Based on that and some other stuff I picked up online about the glare on the 265, I think it is probably worth the extra $ for me.   Cheers!
