After 20.26 update my battery life has gone from 9 hours to 6 hours with the same usage and settings. Is this a bug in the new software?

All,
I'm very sorry if you are experiencing increased battery drain. Please see Tips to Extend the Battery Life on a Garmin Fitness Watch, and if the tips do not help please reach out to Garmin Product…
I contacted Garmin support and they said they would look into it.
For your information Fenix 8 / Enduro 3 / Fenix E just received 11.64 with Battery Drain and Naps fixes.
Garmin-Sierra, Garmin yes you can, all FRx55/x65 are waiting for your feedback for a fix too
Garmin-SierraThank you, but this is not helpful. You already shipped fixes for other watches, and still haven't even acknowledged our issue. I completely factory reset my watch and the issue still persists…
Same Here. Normally IT lasts for 14days. Now for 8days. Please fix it.
My fr 265s went down 23% overnight. Of course no activity and screen off almost all the time. Nuts
Wow okay. So it's not just me then. My 265s is draining fast overnight. I've noticed this in the past few days. I thought the watch was inevitably getting old.
Until the update I got 9-10 days on a full charge. After noticing the post update drain, I did a full charge on my 265 and the battery has drained to below 10% in 4 days. I'm still waiting for a response from Garmin. Since there is no way to roll back the software, Garmin will have to fix this.
My watch just did an auto update to 20.29. Hopefully this will fix things.

Thank you!
It is not a matter of settings, as these were not changed between the versions.
It is a matter of the version and was reported as a beta bug almost a month ago!
Garmin-SierraThank you, but this is not helpful. You already shipped fixes for other watches, and still haven't even acknowledged our issue. I completely factory reset my watch and the issue still persists. Only starting a run right after charging seems to fix it temporarily (until the next charging). Long battery time is a key selling point of your product, and we at least want a confirmation that you are working on a fix.
For me, the 20.29 update fixed the battery drain issue. I'd been dealing with it for most of the beta cycle, with the usual workarounds (power cycle watch or go to run start screen after every activity) to keep battery usage sane. The 20.29 changelog mentions "fix incident detection remaining on after activities" and I'm pretty sure this was the culprit.
This issue hit all the forerunners and fenixes too, why it made it out of beta before getting fixed I won't speculate. My suggestion would be to make sure you are on 20.29, power cycle the watch by holding the light button in for 10+ seconds, then fully charged your watch.
I can confirm that 20.29 also fixed the issue for me. I charged it to 100% yesterday at 14:50. 22 hours later, including a 45 min strength workout (without GPS), I still have 92% (AOD off). 8% per day is what I also got prior 20.26.
