Forerunner 265 elevation bug

Hello,

I have a problem with the altimeter on my Forerunner 265 for the past few weeks.

The readings are completely wrong.

Do you think it is a hardware problem?

I should mention that I have already done a reset which did not fix anything.

  • I can't believe this still isn't fixed. I thought it was for a little while but then i had a flat line elevation run today. =(

  • I am running the 22.14 beta and had one run this morning record with flat-lined elevation data and a other one on Thursday 9th Jan do the same. Several runs and workouts inbetween these dates have been fine. All have used HRM Pro Plus and Forerunner 265.

    1. Is your Floors Climbed data tracking like normal, outside of activities?

Generally not. Floors tracked as normal this morning until I started a running workout but didn't track anything during the workout. The last time this happened, I don't think it logged any floors gained for the whole day. Days in tween have been fine.

    2. If you set an Elevation-type data field for your activity and then start, stop, resume an activity later and then re-start the activity- does it begin tracking elevation?

Haven't tested this. I don't normally notice the lack of elevation data until I am reviewing my performance in the workout after it is completed.

    3. May we have permission to view your Connect account so we can view examples?

Yes. There are two specific examples I can give. One Sunday 19th Jan and another Thursday 9th Jan. Both now show elevation data in Garmin Connect because I selected the option in Garmin Connect to use the base map elevation data for these activities rather than the altimeter. Before I made this change, the elevation data was a flat line despite some very large hills being ascended!

    4. May we, if necessary, have permission to reach you via email?

    Yes
