Removing bad data from VO2 Max & Race Predictor

Yesterday, I logged a 6 km run with my FR265 running at a pace of 4:20 min / km. I noticed afterwards that the HR data recorded for the run was quite inaccurate as my HR ramped up much more slowly than it usually does and then, during the last km, it steadily dropped from Zone 4 all the way down to Zone 1 despite me still running pretty much flat out with no significant change in pace or effort. I'm guessing my chest straps contacts must have been a bit dry or perhaps positioned a bit too high but, at any rate, because of this bad HR data, my watch now thinks I found the run much easier than I actually did and so my VO2 Max has increased and my Race Predictions have dropped to unrealistic values.

I know that, in a month or so, this run will drop off the end of the averaging window used for these metrics but I am close to a 5km race and don't want to wait this long to get a semi-realistic VO2 max and Race Time again.

Is there a way to exclude a particular run from the VO2 Max and race time calculation after the run has already been completed?

  • Unfortunately there is no way to select data for the VO2 max models and associated models.

If you are close to your race, you should have a good idea of your threshold speed. Increase the speed by about 8% to give you a realistic target speed for your upcoming race, and therefore your race time; you may achieve that within +/- 30s.

There are other ways to find your target pace for a 5k.
