Forerunner 265 black screen

So I am on my second forerunner 265 (the first one got replaced because the altimeter and barometer were no longer working) and the screen suddenly went blank today. I was open-water swimming with the watch for about two hours before I got on my bike and started cycling home. Suddenly about 5 min into the ride the screen went black. It stayed this way the entire ride and when I finished and went to stop the workout the watch ended up shutting off completely and will not turn on. I have tried holding down the power button for a minute and also tried turning it on when it is plugged into the wall. Nothing seems to work and I am a bit frustrated to go and try getting a third watch. Any suggestions on what I can do to make this work? For $450 I would hope the watch could last for more than 2 months as this watch was only delivered to me on May 12.

  • Water got into the watch.

I saw same issues on Instinct 2, Fenix 7 and Epix watches. Either buttons stop working or battery drains extremely fast and watch fails. Something is obviously wrong with manufacturing or design of newer generation watches. Too many instances of failure after using them in water for this to be coincidence (or user error as some like to sugest).
