False naps

Ten days into the month and 10 false naps detected so far. When is Garmin going to give us a delete button?

  • You can delete naps in the Web page and the app now .  On the same day only I think. I have seen a delete waste basket on the same day as the nap. On the App you swipe it away.

Go to Sleep Score / Sleep Coach / Then Naps.

  • Thank you I did not know that, however, it seems that even when you delete the nap the data remains and impacts other areas. My sleep coach indicated that I needed more sleep than usual this morning. As usual a false nap was recorded this afternoon while I was working at my desk. I deleted the nap but the sleep coach now indicates that I need less sleep than usual - curiously the same amount that the false nap was. My training readiness indicates that it was boosted by a nap despite the deletion as well. My frustration is more with the fact that the false naps are being recorded in the first place. I am not sleeping during the day, I am working. I do not nap and my heart rate during these "naps' is nothing close to what it is when I actually sleep. Deleting them without the data  actually being removed is pointless. I have made my case with Garmin directly and they say they are working on the problem.

  • Yeah, the ability to delete a nap only on the same day (when there is no way to turn off automatic sleep detection) is staggeringly inept software design, that requires us to monitor our data daily to correct it. If I have to do that, I might as well be logging the data manually. Either fix the nap detection or let us turn it off/and remove previous false entries, because at this point it is just ridiculous and seriously turning me off Garmin watches in general, as it points to an inability to address even very basic software design.

After waking up at 4:39 am on April 26th, I continued to sleep for about an hour without being automatically monitored. Therefore, manually adding a sleep nap (am5:00-am6:25) to the sleep coach in connect did not show the result. Later on, there were three more operations, but none of them were displayed. Later on, it was discovered that all four manual nap records had been changed to those from April 25th, and it was also impossible to delete these four attempts.
