The heart rate led is dead.

See the attached pictures. Thursday night at 22:02 it has stopped working with the heart rate measurement. I restarted the watch, connected to the charge cable and nothing. Friday I got no HR the whole day, since the Thursday event. Then on Friday before bed I put to charge overnight, when I wake up Saturday morning it started working again. It was fine the whole day! But then 22:02 guess what happened again? Yes, the HR led is dead again, trued charging again and nothing. Today Sunday morning no HR. How is that possible? I am so furious because I am traveling and without my HRM-PRO belt and in the middle of a HM training. Software version 18.23, Forerunner 265.

  • I'm very sorry to read this! Please try the following:

    1. Long-hold your middle left button, scroll down to Health & Wellness > Wrist Heart Rate. Turn it off. Then, force the watch off by holding the LIGHT (upper left) button until the screen goes blank. After it's off, wait a few moments and turn it back on. Turn Wrist Heart Rate back on, and put the watch is on your wrist. Give it a few moments and see if your heart rate starts being tracked again.
    2. It's possible that your WHR version (in your 'About' section) shows 0.00. If you have access to a computer, please check for updates using Garmin Express

If neither of these solve the issue, please contact Garmin Product Support for further assistance.

  • Hi. Thank you for the support. After I followed the step 1, turned off the HR and forced shut down, then restartimg the HR sensor was ON again. Didn't have the need to initialize it again. And that didn't change I don't have the HR working....

The software version seems alright, see picture.

I still need to wait until Tuesday for support because of Easter holiday in Sweden. Anyway else I can get support tomorrow?

  • @Garmin-Sierra. The procedure you suggested didn't work as I wrote yesterday. But today 8:00 I put the watch to charge for 10s and removed. Then it came back to life, but just for a few minutes. This seems like a software bug. What could it be?
