Garmin BMI Calculation

How does Garmin calculate the BMI ? I am 63 Kg and my height is 170 cms, the AVG BMI shows to be 56.3, how is this calculated ?

That sounds incorrect , I am about similar (a bit taller) and my BMI is around 20, which is per that formula

Forget about that damn BMI since its absolutely *** and inaccurate for several reasons. Historical fun fact: bmi reference were scotish soldiers that also epxlains why the bmi completely ignores the differences between male and female physiology
