Watch keeps connecting and disconnecting from External HRM

This bug has been irritating me since a while. When we connect the watch to an external hrm, it displays the external heart rate for a while...now here is the issue that keeps on happening. The watch automatically shifts to optical sensor after a few seconds. Then when I go in the sensor menu, I see that its searching for the external hrm and then it connects to it and stays connected only till I am in the Sensor menu. Once I am back on main screen, again the watch disconnects from external sensor.

This is so ridiculous, the option of disabling or enabling the use of the external sensor, should be upto me rather than the watch, the watch should be continuously connected to the external until n unless I disable it.

It stays connected only during an activity or when I am in the sensor menu.

  • This! Exactly what I was coming to this forum to find out about. Very frustrating and hope there's a fix soon.

  • I had a similar problem with the Verity Sense. Solution was to switch off ANT+ on the VS and connect the watch to the VS using BT. I also made sure that the firmware on the Verity Sense was updated to the latest. You can do this in the Flow app. I found that the ANT+ connectivity between the two was very poor. Interestingly, it worked fine for indoor activity but not for outdoor runs.

  • As a quick fix I'm disabling the wrist hr before starting a run and once the external HR strap is connected. That way the watch optical sensor doesn't override the chest strap. Not the most ideal solution but it's something.

  • For me the connection bw the watch and the strap is static, but only during activities, may be you should try ANT instead of BT if ur strap supports...I use Polar H10...
