After software update (17.26) touchscreen is not working

I updated my Forerunner 265 this morning to software version 17.26. The touchscreen is now not working. I looked at the thread The Touchscreen on My Forerunner 265 Is Not Responding and those instructions did not solve the issue. What is the recommended next step to fix this problem? I just got the watch yesterday.

Have you done either a soft reset ( hold in power button until the watch shuts down completely, then after say 20s restart it) or a full reset?

I tried the soft reset several times, but that did not work. I'm not sure how to do a full reset but I will look into it. Thanks!

Settings> Reset > delete data and reset settings

Basically you will then setup the watch from the start again.

Bit of a pain if you have done a lot of customisation ..

Alternatively Chat/ Call with Garmin support

It installed and said "Touch Screen Updated". And indeed, the touch screen works again. I guess this is all set now. Thanks for taking the time to help.

If forcing the watch off (hold down the upper left button until it goes blank) and turning it back on does not resolve this, please look out for the software update to 18.22. Beta 18.15 was available for this fix, but now you can just wait for the live software release. It's currently at a 20% rollout, but hopefully you will receive it soon. You can see if it's available if you go to your watch's menu > System > Software Updates.

Thank you, Garmin-Sierra. The touch screen came back after i powered it off and left it off for a minute. It appeared to install another update when it powered back on; I'm not sure. Previously the check updates screen had said none were available. I had also previously powered the watch off and back on to no avail, but it worked on a second try.
