I have just upgraded from a 245 to a 265. Heart rate is showing on the watch but heart rate and active calories not being picked up in activities

Please can someone advise?

  • Is the FR265 connected to the same Garmin Connect account as your orignal one? Does it sync? Did you try syncing over the USB cable to a computer with Garmin Express? Is the FR265 set as your Primary Wearable Device?

  • Thanks.

just to define the problem more - I have HR data in my dashboard and showing in the activity but no HR zone data in activity and it has not picked up active calories. I also don’t think it has picked up the anaerobic component.

synced to same garmin connect but old watch was taken off and disconnected.

app and watch have been turned off / on again

its all syncing fine and widget is showing

    having tried using garmin express

  • Verify the HR Zone settings on your watch. Please note that there may be up to four different HRZ tables (general one, and the separate tables for Running, Cycling, and Swimming).

As for the anaerobic effect - typically there will be an anaerobic component only if you did some kind of anaerobic workout (short sprints, interval training, hard climbs, or another type of workout with short bursts of maximal effort).

  • I’ll recheck the HR zones - thanks

yes, it was a HIIT so should have picked this up

  • yes, it was a HIIT so should have picked this up

HIIT intervals are sometimes too short to be truly picked up correctly, especially if using just the wrist OHR, and not a strap. Have a look at the HR graph to see whether it contains abrupt changes of HR, or rather just a flattened curve.
