Touchscreen Issue Update

Hi all,

I recently purchased the forerunner 265s. Yesterday the touchscreen stopped working. I believe it was after the automatic update to version 16.17. I tried using the Garmin help, but they gave up after trying a few things (including a soft and hard reset). Has this happened to anyone else?

thanks!

  • I saw that your live chat abruptly ended and I apologize. If this ever happens, it is typically due to something unexpected and out of our control (even though an automated message says the agent "ended" the chat). Regardless, I will reach out to you so I can help!

  • I'm having the same problem.  Would you be able to help me as well?  My update was 17.18

  • Hi, having the same issue after update, anything you could help with?

  • Same deal. FW updated yesterday and my watch display intermittently stays dark. Takes a minute or so to get the display on (multiple taps, wrist raises, pressing/holding buttons). So far I don't know what combination of actions is getting the display to turn on. My watch updated yesterday and this has happened twice since then.

It's almost as if the watch is off, but the sensor LEDs are on and I am getting HR updates in Connect.

EDIT: v17.24 and this was, if I recall, the second update in about a week's time.

Also, in my case, the touchscreen works, when it's on

  • Same here. Since yesterday's Auto update to v17.24, touchscreen is unresponsive plus Auto Scroll during Run doesn't work.

  • All, please respond to the following if you are experiencing this:

    1. May I have permission to reach you via email?
    2. In which country are you located?
    3. Does the touch function work on occasion, or not at all?
    4. Does power cycling the device make a difference?
    5. Does toggling Touch off/on make a difference?
  • Yes you may. I’m located in Norway, it does not work at all and it has not made any difference regarding point 4 and 5 I’m afraid.

  • Yes, however please note that I just got off a phone conversation with one of your support agents who opened a case.

While I was responding to you, I received an update that seems to have resolved the touchscreen issue. I will let you know about the Auto Scroll issue after tomorrow after my next activity.  Thank you.

  • Update - went for a test walk. Looks like if display during activity is "Always On"' the data screens will scroll and touchscreen works.  If "Alway On:" is off, screens do not scroll and touchscreen does not work.

  • 1. Yes you can contact me

    2. I am in Australia

    3. Touch does not work at all

    4. No, power cycling has not made a difference

    5. Toggling touch on and off has not made a difference
