Strava Live Segments Feature Request

One of the missing features from the newest devices (I own the 265S) seems to be Strava Live Segments. I've asked Strava and Garmin separately about this before and seem to get the vague answer of 'it's not something we've done but thanks for the comment'. Strava seem to put the ball in the court of Garmin directly to do this. Why aren't we getting the feature? The list below has lots of older devices such as the now 7 year old FR 735XT as well as those from more lesser known or popular running watch brands where it has been included on the device.

Surely with the newest and very capable devices like the FR 265 and 965 it should be equally possible. Why are we not seeing this great feature added?

  • It's not missing from the newest devices (that list you linked is out of date), it's missing from all the Forerunner 2xx watches. 9xx watches have had strava live segments since 935 (935, 945, 945LTE, 955 and 965).

Not to state the obvious but they want you to buy the more expensive running watch (965) if you want that feature. It has nothing to do with "whether it's possible", it's all about what people are willing to pay.

Same reason 965 has features like maps and stamina, but 265 does not.

(Yeah I know it sucks that there's no smaller version of the 965 akin to the 265S.)
