F265 with HRM-Pro Plus

Is there any need to use a HRM-Pro Plus with a F265? I have an RD-POD so I think i have all the running metrics covered. So, for lactate thresh hold, do i need a Garmin or will a CooSpo H6 work?

Thanks, Len

  • Apparently the CooSpo H6 sends R-R intervals so the watch should be able to measure HRV with accuracy for the lactate threshold.

  • Thanks so much for your input.  Time to get off my butt and give it a try

  • did you try coospo chest strap?

does it work for LTHR detection?

can you please share the exact model used?

  • I did try the CooSpo H6 heart monitor.  It did pair with the 265s without any problems, and worked well.  I forgot how much more responsive the chest strap is vs the wrist.  And I tried it a couple of times before I write this.  But, LTHR didn't work.  I then bought a Garmim HRM-Pro Premium, and KTHR worked just fine.  So, it appears from an N=1 users that you need the HRM-Pro Premium to get LTHR.

  • Mmh that's strange.

I bought the Coospo H6 in the meanwhile, this morning connected for the first time on my FR 955 (sorry not a 265) and run the Garmin LTHR test without issues.

And finally found the LTHR value.

So I would say that Coospo H6 works for LTHR on 955. Are you totally sure is not working on 265?

  • I just completed a lactate threshold test on my 265 with a CooSpo H6 so it seems to me that any chest strap that supports HRV will do the job. Doesn't have to be a Garmin one. The value it gave me agreed surprisingly well with TrainingPeaks and Intervals despite the (presumably) very different methodology.

  • any chest strap will do the job

any strap that sends R-R data or supports HRV

  • That's true. Edited previous reply to clarify.
