Any hardware upgrade of the Heart rate censor since 245/Venu 2 ?

Hello, i don't find the answer on the descriptions of the products so i hope getting help here.

I got 245/Venu 2 and they are great but have the same hardware heart rate sensor and so...the exact same problems/bugs which causes the heart rate to sometimes give totally stupid values during interval running sessions (and sometimes when walking quickly for some reason)

The problem is that it's not just temporary values due to a lag, the clocks persist on its false values and won't change until we reset the run...

In short, I don't want to pay an expensive 265 to have the same problem, so if someone has the answer to my question, thank you in advance (I'm not interested in knowing that there are belts for the heart rate etc.. since this is 99% of the time the answer that people give)

Thanks you for your help

  • Was lucky and found the answer, and it's no.

    In short

    - 245 have Elevate v3 heart rate hardware sensor
    - Venu 2 Elevate v4 heart rate
    - 265 Elevate v4 heart rate

But since i have the exact same bugs in 245 and venu 2, it mean that 265 will have the same problem that could be the hardware of software, at the end of the day it's bad news :/ Guess i will search for another brand

edit :to get the new V5 heart rate you will have to buy the last Fenix 7 pro,  $899-999 :/  (without AMOLED screen, of course, can't have everything it would be too simple even for $1000)

  • Venu 2 Elevate V4 vs 265 Elevate V4 - they are the same?

    Yes and no.

Yes, because the 265 does have exactly the same issues on reliability - sometimes it just goes nuts and provides completely out of the touch HR for indefinite periods.

No, because the stress measurement is much more elaborate on the 265: when you have higher stress, the venu starts to give up easily, so you will have a lot of gaps in the stress chart.

The 265 is more controlled, while in very high stress situations (such as during an exercise) it still provides gaps, in normal situations it gives more consistent data.

This is a huge step-up from the Venu, but the HR reliability is still non existent.

That being said, I don't think that the Fenix 7 pro will solve this. This seems to be an algorithmic issues, and nothing to do with the sensor (the drop outs and glitches happens in simple exercises such as walking, so nothing special like weight lifting).

I would wait with the Fenix 7 pro until the hype goes down and real life experiences will be there.
