Screen bezel differences between 965 and 265

When watching DC Rainmakers review of both watches...including the photos I've seen, the outer edge of the screen of the 265 looks more beveled (not as flat) as the screen on the 965. Is it actually so or are they the same?

Thanks

  • Hi, today I was at garmin exchanging my 255 and took a look at 265 (sadly dummy). You are right, screen is slightly rounded on corners and I belive center is above bezel... A big no-no from my side because of this... It looks more like venu than other forerunners...

  • Hi both, its not as profound on the watch as you might think, there is a slight curvature to it which makes typical screen protectors unworkable. I have bought and applied these as they are flexible and mould to the screen. They are pretty good to be honest.

  • What I'm interested in though is whether the screens between the two watches are the same as one another or if the 265 is more beveled? I acknowledge that the best answer to this question will come from someone who has seen both watches in person...which is what I'm hoping for.

  • Both screens across the top are identically flat on all three units 965/265/265S. I posted photos somewhere in one of the forum threads showing this with a flat-edged object and light leakage - none in this case.

Instead, it's the last 1mm or so nearest the bezel that the units taper down very slightly - incredibly slightly. In looking at those three units side-by-side, with my eyes I can't see any difference in the taper angle or taper width. They all appear the same.

However, as I noted somewhere, what makes the 265 appear to taper more strongly is that under that taper/last 1mm, it's got a more reflective material - as that's beyond the screen portion and has a more glossy under-surface than the 965 which appears more mat.

  • And what better person to answer my question than the man himself... The man who knows...'Ray for President' .... Thanks buddy... Much appreciated Thumbsup
