Bug: Watch requires gesture to see screen during activity

A big problem I've found with the 265 is that during a run on a bright sunny day you cannot see the screen unless you make a definitive gesture with your wrist. A lot of times I just want to glance at my watch without bringing it up to my face. Either the gesture sensitivity needs to be significantly increased or we need an option for the brightness of the watch to stay at 100% for the duration of the activity. Right now the watch is not usable as a running watch. It makes a nice everyday watch but that is about it.

I notice the ambient light problem the most when wearing a long sleeve and I pull up my sleeve to see my watch. It can take a good 3-5 seconds to get the watch bright enough to see. Not being able to instantly see it isn't something I want to deal with while trying to run under 5 min/mi pace so I'm just going to stick to my 945 LTE on any harder workouts. Unless this problem gets fixed I'll just wear the 265 on easy days where checking my watch doesn't matter.

I turned off AOD during activity, and my guestures failed to turn the screen on about 4 out of 5 times.

If the watch is facing up during running, the screen should be lit up. Facing the side is usual for arms swinging back and forward. It doesn't sound hard...

Pressing the light button isn't good enough for a running watch to see the display.

My battery life is nowhere near promised, so please don't say the solution is to turn on AOD during activity.

Garmin-Kevin is gesture sensitivity on the roadmap?

I am experiencing the same issue.

In smartwatch mode, gesture working good.

When running, the gesture is very slow/unresponsive (previously had Venu SQ and it worked perfectly!!). Very impractical for a running workout!

Garmin closed this thread as there was more than 1 problem discussed. So they decidet, to solve non of them and stop any discussion about it. I am pretty sure, nothing happened after Garmin-Sierra wanted "to reach out to a few of you". Garmin simply does not want to fix the problems.
