Serious Steps problems after installing update 20.32

Forerunner 255

After upgrading from 20.31 to 20.32, sometimes when I walk a few dozen steps, the step count doesn't update, and then I sit down and wait for a long time before it suddenly changes.
And during the walking process, the step count is jumping and suddenly increases by a dozen steps.
Sometimes it doesn't update even after a few steps.
In the past, the number of steps has been changing continuously, and after upgrading from 20.31 to 20.32, it is not normal.
Tried restoring factory settings and that didn't work either.

it is annoying.

I want to down grade to 20.31, but i could not find a way to do that.

I do not know how it worked previously…

  • I occasionally buy something online at the whole time and i need to watch seconds.
My 255 with the official built-in dial , the  seconds always refresh.
And not, as you say. “MIP displays refresh the seconds only for a limited time of 20-30s”

  • It is possible that your watchface does refresh the seconds continuously, and keeps the rest of the screen refreshing just once a minute (after the initial period od 20-30s after wake up). That saves energy too. You can try scrolling the screen once down and then up back to to the main screen, to see whether the steps counter refreshes. Or as I wrote previously, you can try waking up the screen with the gesture, with the Light button, or you can keep an activity running in the background, to see whether you then get continuous incrementing of the steps.

  • The previous video is of walking indoors.
I just went for a short walk outdoors and realized that I could refresh my step count every three or four steps or so, and I was happy with the results.
I just went walking indoors again for a while and realized that I can also refresh every three or four steps, and I'm happy with that near real-time update.

But for some reason, the multiple tests of walking indoors a couple hours ago, even when walking consistently indoors, all took a minute between steps to update(both watch face and widget), just like that video posted earlier.

Looks like my problem is solved, just after a walk outdoors.

  • i tried again.

I sit still first. then I just walked for around 10-15 steps indoors and the steps began to refresh and it keeps refreshing after 3-4 steps.  I do not understand why it suddenly solved and why steps did not refresh even I walk for 30-40 seconds a few hours ago.
