Hi All. Follow up to my post 3 days ago. I saw latest posts about workaround (using 4-field layout) and v.14.15 fixing the issue with small fonts. I decided to run firmware update this time. My watch was on firmware v.13.23, I only saw v.14.13 available. I was not sure if v.14.15 becomes available after installing v.14.13. Anyway, I installed the update. My Forerunner 255S is on v.14.13 now. I don’t see any further updates (where is v.14.15?) being available even that I synced few times and checked again and again. I do not seem to be having issues with small font on three different 3-field layouts. Just before installing firmware update my watch was already set to 4-field layout. I only changed to 3-field layouts after update took place for testing purposes only (out of curiosity). This is how my watch looks now after installing v.14.13 update (pretending to run) – see the photos. I think some of you who are having the problem may not find this post useful. But some others who have not installed this update yet and thinking, it shows that not everyone will be affected with the “bugs” of the firmware v14.13. Though, I am yet to find out if any other issues are going to show up.

Forerunner 255 Series Software Update Version 14.15 - 30% rollout

That means, it is a staged rollout. Could take some days, before it is available for everyone… percentage is usually set up in 3 or 4 steps.

Fonts are in normal size now.
For me, I just hadn't any notification in GC (web version), not even on Garmin Express. I just cable synced on Garmin Express to sync my workout trainings calendar, and then... boom! FW 14.15 was there. I don't know when it happened actually, because I synced many times in the past days.

Try using the check for software update via WiFi from the settings menu on your watch?

Settings >> System >> Software Update >> Check for Updates

Hi Aslam. Thank you for an idea. I tried following it. As said earlier, I have Forerunner 255S. I pressed and held "Up" button (on middle of the left side), scrolled all the way down to System > Software Aupdate > only option here is Auto Update On/Off. There is no "Check for Updates" option. And as for WiFi, I run a search on Google and watched video on YouTube showing FR645 connection process to WiFi. Going back to Garmin website I found manual explaining process: "Hold UP > Select Connectivity > Wi-Fi > My Networks > Add Network > The watch displays a list of nearby Wi‑Fi networks > Select a network > If necessary, enter the password for the network". But then I found a note saying "Wi‑Fi® is available only on the Forerunner® music watch" which explains why mine does not have such option (maybe not in this firmware version). Though it does seems to be well outdated for my watch as even beginning steps do not match the actual menu fields. I tried hard but there seem to be no WiFi option on FR255S without "Music" with firmware v.14.13 that my watch is currently on. Though I am still not noticing any actual problems that would make me want to complain.

About what??
I explained it above: Firmware updates are always staged, not everybody gets it at the same time. Relax, in a few hours or some days it will be available for you.

Yes, sure. The non-music versions have no Wi-Fi built in. Never had.
Look it up on the product pages, only the music version has Wi-Fi (for syncing with Spotify and such services).

Ah, yes, sorry, the non-music versions has no WiFi. Best bet is to connect your watch to your PC via the charging cable to check for an update.

But still: It is no guarantee for the new firmware to be installed!
50% Rollout means: 50% of the FR255 owners will NOT get this update at this point! No matter the connection.

I had this with my FR245 a couple of times, sometimes I got the update only 3 or 4 days after initial release.

Thank you "3541523" and Aslam. I installed Garmin Express on my PC, connected my FR255S watch with its USB cable, synced successfully. Checked for firmware updates but nothing available just yet - as you explained above. I guess I will have to wait. But I am not bothered as there is nothing wrong with this version of firmware on my watch even that some other users reported problems with small fonts and other related to Bluetooth pairing/connection. I have done one workout today. My watch is over 12+ hours on this possibly "plagued" version 14.13 but I have no issues (yet?).
