Forerunner 255S charges only to 83%

TimmyR I have the same problem and have followed the same steps as you, I even bought a new charging cable AND did the full reset - this didn't fix the problem for me. I am currently also waiting for the watch the drain and holding thumbs that's the answer. I'll post my results here as well.

UPDATE: I let the battery discharge fully and only marginally got a better battery charge, was 83% before, only getting to 86% now.

FURTHER UPDATE: Much excitement, I finally got 100% charge!!! While my watch was charging, it was at about 83% when I did this, I did a "Power Off" from the controls screen (long hold the top left light button and select Power Off from the options). I was just curious to see if the watch continues charging when powered down. I then switched it on again and what do you know, it passed my usual 86% max and kept going, next thing I knew it was at 100%. Go figure!?!?

Same here except now she get it charged to 93% and it stalls out. I am going work the issue next week with Garmin support again.

would you please share how's the feedback after the call with Garmin support ?  thanks !

Update on my device. My wife let it drain to 0%. When she attempted to charge it, it stalled at 93%, She continued to wear it and then charged again about a week or so later. It sat overnight and did not charge (likely not connected well is what we suspect) then the next night it charged to 100%. Problem solved for now.

wonder how's the duration if still the same as previous or match what 100% should be  ? and also how's the next time with charge does still able to charge till 100% ?

This works!! I was stuck on 89%, pressed power and five minutes later I am at 100%!
