My Forerunner 245 is disconnecting from my phone constantly

My Forerunner 245 is disconnecting from my phone constantly now, happens quite a few times a day and when I try to reconnect it fails and I have to set up my device again. I love the watch, but what is the point if it won't stay connected. Anyone know how to solve this?

  • There was a case when the Bluetooth communication range suddenly dropped sharply, literally to 1, 1.5 meters. Maybe the same thing happened to you.

  • Yeah happens all the time to me now with my FR245 and Samsung A34. I have to keep pairing it all over again. I guess it was a bug/feature introduced in the last update to encourage us to upgrade to a newer Garmin watch.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the newer Garmin watches, so bought an Amazfit T-Rex3. Its bluetooth has been rock solid.

  • I have no problem connecting FR245 to Samsung A40, M32. The conspiracy theory suggestion in the latest update is funny, it was 9 months ago by the way.

  • Could be an update to the app! The unpairing has only started happening recently.

  • Could be an update to the app!

Indeed, maybe the firmware was made in such a way that it was waiting for today's date to start doing evil.

So you insist that this is a conspiracy against all 245, and their tentacles just haven't reached me yet? Dark sunglasses

Seriously speaking, I had a similar case with FR55, the BT communication range dropped sharply. If you move away a bit, the connection breaks. Then the battery died, I bought a new one and took it to the service. To my surprise, after the service, not only the battery was fine, but the phone and FR55 communication range of 10 meters was restored. Almost a year has passed, and there have been no problems. So it might be easy to just go to a repair shop and they will be able to help.

  • I said I guess, not insist. Moving out of range should not cause a device to unpair and require reregistering.

Anyway I doubt a FR245 is worth repairing. So new watch it was.
