Body battery too low

For the last 3 weeks approximately my highest level of body battery tops up at exactly 25.

I have had a cold for the last 2 weeks but now I'm much better and the BB still doesn't go above 25.

On my Daily Timeline, 99% of the time is shown in red as Stress (including sleep hours) and 1% in blue as Rest.

While I understand I might be more stressed than last month, it sounds very suspicious that the BB is topping up at 25 precisely for so many days.

I'm running software version 13.70, which is also a few weeks old so I'm starting to think that there is something wrong with the software.

Is this a known problem?

  • Hi.

First question, did you do a soft reset? If yes and it didn't help, then look at your resting pulse - in my opinion, stress is very much connected with the ratio of your current pulse to your resting pulse.

  • Hi, many thanks for your reply. I haven't done any kind of reset to the watch yet as I've never had similar issues.

Are you referring to System > Reset > Default settings?

  • No, search the google "garmin How to do a soft reset?"

It is a much less painful operation.

    See  https://youtu.be/FPi-nR_5Z3o or https://youtu.be/LwDPguKP_SE/

  • I did a soft reset and my BB went up a little bit over 25, from 30min rest time overnight to about an hour but the rest is back to just a few minutes and therefore the BB topping at 25 again.

Resting HR is around 60. I wouldn't think this is so high that there is no recovery taking place overnight.

Now I'm doing an easy 5k training plan and obviously my recovery times are looking totally unrealistic at 68h after a 30 min run, since there is practically no rest time taking place.

I've never had this before. I know my heart is healthy as I've done a lot of medical testing very recently.

    Any more suggestions? Frowning2

  • Mystery solved! I had a injury on my shoulder which didn't let me sleep properly.

Now that it's improved, the night recovery is as expected.

  • For what it is worth, I found that when I had a day when I ate a lot of food, I would get a low reading. For some reason, digesting a lot of food, gives me a higher resting heart rate and improper sleep. When I was on a calorie deficit, even after a hard aerobic day, I would get a 100 the following morning. Go figure.

  • That's very interesting. I think the problem is that the device doesn't give you an explanation, just a score so maybe there's room for improvement there. Or maybe some devices do but the FR245 definitely not.
