How long do I need to run for my watch to calculate VO2 max?

Hi!

I have noticed that during very short runs (like 1K) my watch does not calculate VO2 max. 

How long do I need to run for my watch to calculate VO2 max?

Are there other thing that matters for it to be counted as a VO2 max calculated run?

I use Forerunner 245 Music.
