Ok to get a 245 if using an iPhone?

Is there any issue with using a 245 with an iPhone? My friend has an Apple watch that has just died and I'm recommending she get a Garmin 245 Music, but I need to make sure that it will work ok with her iPhone, and likewise that Garmin Connect can be installed on her iPhone. (Pure Android user here and have no clue about Apple products.)

The AW has many more smart watch functions than the FR would have so if that functionality of the AW is important - beware the expectation gap!

If the main focus is a fitness watch then sure the FR would be great!
