Sleep tracker

I just got sleep tracked for the first time. After i woke up I saw the data. After a while (after syncing with my phone?) the sleeping time had been adjusted, anticipating the start of it for no reason. The first data were correct. Why is that and how can I avoid that?

  • If I watch TV for a couple of hours before bed, and then go quickly to bed at ten, the algorithm sometimes decides that I was asleep for a couple hours, got up for a moment, then went back to sleep at ten.  It's not a brilliant sleep tracker.

    Two tips:
    1) use the settings to tell it the time you normally go to sleep and wake up
(and stick to them - watch aside, regular sleep times are better for your health)
    2) avoid doing something so lethargic before bedtime that it suspects you are asleep
    3) manually adjust the start end times of your sleep period when it messes up

Not the greatest answer, but not the greatest sleep tracker.  If sleep tracking is your primary interest, there are better ones on the market.

  • Sadly, this is the best response. Sleep tracking and pulse ox are just useless on this watch.

I know Garmin only focuses on new watches and this one is like three years old or more. Yet if the entire sleep tracking algorithm is revised to solve something silly like having to give sleeping time in beforehand (what about rotation shift workers who want to keep track of their sleep for health reasons?), I wish this watch would be included. Then I wouldn’t need to carry around my Fitbit watch which, in turn, sucks at everything else but has very good sleep tracking.
