No unaerobic effect?

I purchased FR245M about a month ago, and I've been doing strength and running workouts. The aerobic measurement does infact give sensible scores; the unaerobic metric does not. My workouts include hard sets and variations of pull ups, rows, dips and push ups, yet the unaerobic measurement does not go above 0.8 - it's mostly in the 0.0-0.4 range.

Could my FR have some defective sensors? Or is it something else?

Thank you.

Are pictures needed?

  • Well, it is not unaerobic but anaerobic effect, it is heartrate based. So to get an anaerobic effect you will need to raise your heartrate to zone 5, close to your maximum heartrate. Hard to do with pull ups and such. But if you think you are reaching those heartrates but the watch does not measure it correctly you could try a chest strap sensor.

  • I agree with RobNL.  I need sustained hardcore cardio to get any aerobic points.  Maybe a crazy superset of squats and jumps would do it, but things that get you horizontal like push ups, and exercises focusing on the arms aren't going to put enough demand on the cardiovascular system to get you anaerobic.
