Hi, I recently ran a half marathon, but on the start line the GPS was having a hard time settling on my location, it would tick green then go red, then green, then red etc etc. The start was lined by buildings, and obviously busy with other runners. I just had to start the pacepro off and hope it had locked onto GPS. But it hadn't and threw my pace out by about -30seconds, locating me a 100m or so on a random street to the north. GPS did settle down after a KM, but for the rest of the race I was having to calculate my overall pace in my head, and add the few 100m to my distance.
Not the end of the world obviously, but I was wondering if there was a way to prevent this?
Would having my watch search for GPS for longer have worked?
Is there a way to tell the watch the exact start location before hand?
Any other ways?
Thanks in advance.
