Heart rate dropping during strength training

When I track strength training, my heart rate will either drop completely or go down to a very low rate out of the blue - is this a common issue & are there any fixes? As a result I'm not getting accurate feedback on how effective my workout was.

I don't think it's the tightness of the watch as I wear it the same as I did my Fitbit Ionic & never had this issue. I'm wondering if this watch wasn't the best option for me as a strength athlete vs a runner. Curious to see if others have this same issue. Thanks!

  • As far as I know it's a know issue. Not only in Garmin, but I also saw videos on youtube that test/compare different companies' devices and they also state that this is a known issue. Depending on the sets you do a chest strap might help.
