LegacyHRM transmitter

Hello Forum

I have a HRM transmitter (HRM1G ANT+)) that came with my FR 305. I've been using it on my 235 and now I'm using it  on my 245.

Is my old 305 HRM transmitter incompatible with my FR 245?

I'm getting really funky high heart rate trace. The battery is 2.8V.

When I take the HRM strap off my sitting HR 65 bpm and my BP is great. I'm 70.

Are my zones set up incorrectly in my connect Garmin profile?

Thanks.

I put in a new battery. Started by inserting battery flipped to discharge any residual charge (as per advice here on Garmin Connect Support). I put in a new battery even though the other one (not a brand name) had a 2.8V charge but there was discolouration around the edges of it. Looked like somehow some leakage.

Went out for a 1.5 jog then  climbed four flights of stairs and got my HR up and the trace was/returned to normal/expected.

  • The transmitter is probably fine. Try replacing the strap. These things deteriorate with age and use.

  • Thanks, received a new one today. Snug, but it will stretch a bit no doubt. My FR245 picked up the signal immediately. Garmin doesn't make that transmitter strap any longer, but Amazon has them and they are exactly the same as the Garmin branded strap that came with my FR305.
