Forerunner 245 loses GPS signal

I have to run software updates at least once a week as my forerunner 245 stops connecting to the GPS. Is this normal? It has been happening for the last 3 or 4 months.

Could be a faulty unit. I had one that regularly lost the signal about an hour into a run. I contacted Garmin and they switched it quickly for another unit.
