I've been given several conflicting pieces of information by support.. I'm on version 5.5 and while generally happy I'd like to install an app that requires later software.
Garmin Support has said if using beta software you can only roll back to the previous released version not necessarily what you were running. I.e if running 5.5 and you update to 11.6 can only go back to 11.1. Fair enough, and that seems to be backed up by other posts I've read.
I called Garmin support and asked if I chose to update, is there anyway to go back to the original installed software. I was told I could do a hard reset to return to installed version before the update software. I'd loose my activities and files like treadmill calibration but that's not a big deal to me, easy enough to back up the activities and do a calibration run.
Previously support had told me you can only go back if using beta software.
I'm having trouble believing the answer that I can go back with a hard reset regardless that I reiterated and rephrased the question after being initially told I could and that was asked recently. But I'm not buying in unless I hear about someone having success with that technique, or if support reads this and confirms that a roll back is possible.
I'd love the new equipment support (Eliptical) but not at the expense of core function getting trashed. The software updates haven't been universally loved.
