Average Moving Pace and Speed have disappeared

Since Sunday I have no data showing for average MOVING pace or speed, just dashes?

I spoke with Garmin Customer Service on the Phone. They stated that average moving time was removed on purpose. I'm not sure whether they intended to remove moving pace as well, because the metric of "run…

It's a system wide issue, not device specific:

But it seems it has been done deliveratedly by Garmin... bad decision!

I have now also received a similar reply from Garmin Support. Copied below for info. They seem to have missed an opportunity to improve. They could now show average running and walking pace separately if they wished instead they have removed a useful piece of information.

I can see that the software team have come back to my report and have also confirmed that this is by design at the moment. There has been a experience issue case made so that this can be tracked and maybe added later to Garmin connect in a update.

The software team have provided a explanation on why this is happening

"If a compatible device records Run/Walk/Idle time to an activity, Connect will not display Moving Time. Avg Moving Pace is based off of Moving Time and without that value cannot be displayed as well. "

Hi Douglas,

This is by design. If a compatible device records Run/Walk/Idle time to an activity, Connect will not display Moving Time. Avg Moving Pace is based off of Moving Time and without that value cannot be displayed as well.

Me too, I am so disappointed. Like you, I had this indecipherable response. I’m contemplating recording run as a ‘walk’ and then changing activity as this mode still shows average moving pace/speed? Any thoughts?

Do you know from when? My run yesterday does not show it. My complaint to garmin got a completely useless response that explained how to use race against a previous activity on the same course?!! Plus also helpfully explaining what moving ave time and pace are.

It’s back from today.
I think they have missed an opportunity. They have the data now to also break it down to running pace and walking pace.
That would be more useful than just moving pace.
