Interval countdown display

This is crucial for me, if I do not find a positive answer to my question, i´ll return the watch.

I´m using one of the marathon plans on my FR245. It has intervals. So when I run an interval I need to see how far into the interval I am or, even better, for how long my rep stil will last.

Is there a way to show this on the display? The data must be in the watch. I can not wrap my head around it. Tried each an everything and spoiled my third interval session yesterday with stopping up and trying to fiddle with my watch instead of running. This is so annoyning! And there must be a way out.

Please, any advice is highly appreciated.

all the best

  • If it was that important to you why didn't you find out if watch did this before you bought it?

  • I'm not familiar with the Garmin marathon plans, but for interval sessions I just use the data screens on the 245. Among the four screens I've customized I have one that includes lap time and another that includes lap distance. One caters for intervals specified by time (e.g., 5 minutes @10K pace) and the other for intervals specified by distance (e.g., 2 miles at tempo pace). I just glance at the watch to see how much time or distance I have left to go.

You'll likely need to customize one or more data screens to meet your needs. The 245 has lots of flexibility on this and it's easy to set them up just the way you like, although it may take some experimentation to figure out what you like best.

Of course, this only works if you know how much time or how much distance the interval is supposed to be. Do you not know that before you start the workout? That would drive me bonkers, and I would think that the Garmin marathon plans would make that info readily available.
