Forerunner 245 will not charge. (Plug w pins) How do I know if I need a new battery?

I’m @ 45% battery & my cable is not giving battery life to my unit. I cleaned back & plug with an alcohol wipe. Still nothing. Is it possible I need a new battery? My unit is 3 yrs old.
