How to set the running data screen to pace-HR-stopwatch as default?

After way too much effort I figured out how to get my Forerunner 245 to display pace, heartrate, and stopwatch on the same screen. Can I set this screen as the default to reduce the number of buttons I have to click at the start line? Here what I have to do now, from the home screen"

Click START-STOP three times to get to the default running data screen, which shows pace.

Click DOWN twice to get to the pace-heartrate-stopwatch data screen.

Click START-STOP at the gun to start the stopwatch.

That's six clicks. Can I make the pace-heartrate-stopwatch the default running data screen? I want to do this sequence of buttons:

Click START-STOP three times to get to the default running data screen.

Click START-STOP at the gun to start the stopwatch.

That one button, four clicks, Much easier to remember.

  • Sure that’s possible.

Go to settings, edit that activity. Beside creating new pages or modifying existing ones, you can also change their position. Take your page and move it to position one, save it. The activity will start with this page then.

Just try it out, you will figure it out.

  • Thanks but I did that a million times last night and was completely baffled. From the home screen,

    > Hold UP.

    > Click DOWN three times to get to Settings, Activities & Apps.

    > Click START-STOP to go into Activities & Apps.

    > Click START-STOP to go into Run.

    > Click START-STOP to go into Run Settings.

    > Click START-STOP to go into Data Screens.

Now I see Pace in Position 1.

    > Click DOWN to see Pace-HR-Timer in Position 2.

Here is where I had no idea what to do.

    > Click START-STOP to go into the pencil.

The options are Layout, Data Fields, Reorder.

    > Click DOWN twice to get to Reorder.

    > Click START-STOP to go into Reorder.

    I see Pace-HR-Timer.

    > Click UP to move Pace-HR-Timer into Position 1.

    > Click BACK.

    This asks Save Changes?

    > Click START-STOP to save changes.

    > Click BACK six times to return to the home screen.

That worked! Now at the start line I click START-STOP twice to get to the Pace-HR-Timer screen and the START-STOP a third time at the gun.

    Thanks!

Last night I was confused thinking that "Reorder" meant that I wanted to change the order of Pace-HR-Timer to, e.g., Timer-Pace-HR. I wasn't thinking that "Reorder" meant move the Pace-HR-Timer data screen from Position 1 to Position 2.
