How can I permanently switch from the Stopwatch tab while running? FR245M

I just got the this watch, so I might just slipped over some settings that would help, but so far I couldn't find anything neither in the watch or in the phone app.

My problem is that when I start running and I activate the timer, every time I go to the music tab or the main menu (watch face) after a few seconds the watch automatically switches back to the stopwatch tab and starts showing my current time again.

Is there any way I can turn this switch function off?

I would like to stay on either the music tab or the main menu after I started my timer.

  • You can't do that with a Garmin, as they're designed to mostly keep you in "activity mode" (with all the activity data screens) while you're doing an activity like running or cycling. Think of an activity as being almost like an app, and once you start the timer, the app remains active until you stop the activity and either save or discard it.

So you can switch to the watchface or the music controls temporarily, but as you've found, you can't stay there permanently.

What you can do is add the clock as a data screen/page, scroll to that page and stay there for most or all of your activity, but it'll just be a generic version of the watchface without any of your customizations. (For example, if you downloaded a watchface from the Connnect IQ store, it won't be displayed this way.)

I don't think there's any way to stay on the music controls.

  • Yeah, figured...

    Thanks!
